General Meeting

Our November meeting marks SVCB's 35th anniversary! It will be an in-person and virtual event at the San Jose Vista Center for the Blind on Saturday, November 19, 2022 from 9:30 AM to 1 PM. Lunches will be available from Subway the way it used to be with the same menu but new pricing (lunch orders now cost $10 and the chicken salad option is $12). Talk to Donna Sanchez about the new chicken salad!

When scheduling your ride home, please choose a window no later than 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM. Thank you.

The meeting will also be available through Zoom for those who can't attend the in-person meeting. The Zoom information is below and is also in the Event Calendar section of the newsletter.

Please register for the holiday party. Registration is $30 for SVCB and CCB members and $35 for guests. Give your money to Victor. Likewise, pay your dues for 2023, $20. They're $10 for CCB life members.

Debee Armstrong will describe her dog rescue activities and coax King to go home with her. "We'll see if that works!"

In the business section, SVCB's 2023 administration will be elected. John Glass' article is in the November newsletter. The slate of candidates is:

  • President, Rob Turner: third term, up for election
  • Vice president: Mike Keithley, third term, up for election
  • Treasurer: David Hoffman, has been nominated
  • Recording secretary: Debee Armstrong, has been nominated
  • Corresponding secretary: Carol Silveria, third term, up for election

Current Board terms:

  • Director: John Glass, first term, first year, not up for election
  • Director: Joe Silveria: first term, second year, up for election
  • Director: Naomi Grubb, second term, second year, up for election

Remember that you can nominate anyone from the floor.
